Sexual Assault Kit Summit In Detroit

Detroit’s first Sexual Assault Kit Summit will be held on Monday. According to the Associated Press, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy will host the summit, Monday morning at the General Motors Renaissance Center. Along with victim advocates, nearly 300 prosecutors will be in attendance. Police officials and forensic and behavioral scientists from across the country are also expected to participate. Among other things, the summit was inspired by the discovery of more than 10,000 untested rape kits in Detroit, in 2011.
