Comfortable temperatures in southwest Michigan will give way to near-90's over the weekend, according to a number of forecasts including the National Weather Service for Battle Creek. The NWS thinks, though, isolated thunderstorms will keep us from breaking 90 on Saturday and Sunday.

Summer heat waves have been hard to come by in recent years. Mlive Chief Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa notes that two days in a row of 90-degree readings would be a first since 2013.

Meanwhile, somewhat cooler high temperatures will prevail over the next couple of days. Hear updates to the forecast all day on this station.
