A Battle Creek man was injured after a dispute regarding slashed tires led to an attack.

The Battle Creek Enquirer says that around 2:45am Thursday, a 31-year-old man was found in the first block of Highway St. with a stab wound to his face. He told police that he had found the tires on his car slashed, and approached a group of people in connection to that.

One in that group, a 17-year-old girl, said the victim made inappropriate comments towards her, and when he noticed that his tires were slashed he blamed her. The girl said that some of her friends then confronted the victim, leading to him being stabbed with a knife or glass bottle.

A 20-year-old Battle Creek man was arrested in this incident, and will be charged with felonious assault.
