Like icing on the very slippery cake baked over the weekend, another few inches of snow has fallen and blanketed roads in southwest Michigan overnight. Motorists are being greeted with some measure of snow cover on main roads, with a glaze of ice underneath in some areas. Crews have been out and continue to work to push a majority of snow out of the way, as is seen in the picture of Columbia Avenue above.

The timing of the new snow isn't great, since road crews have already been working long shifts trying to finish up snow clearing from this weekend's storm, which left an average of 12-14" on the ground.

Weather Wednesday morning also included a wintry mix that followed the snow, mostly with a fine drizzle falling on top of the snow. The National Weather Service forecast for Battle Creek suggests the weather will calm down for a few days, but it will be colder.
