Snow's vacation seems to be limited to the month of December, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast for Battle Creek issued on Wednesday morning. Meteorologists are watching a storm with a variable track, but feel certain that some sort of wintry precipitation will affect travel this coming weekend.

The question seems to be what kind of precipitation, given the track of the storm is not entirely certain. A more southerly track would suggest less precipitation, though a more northerly track would leave Battle Creek with at least a few inches of new snow to start the new year.

Overall, colder temperatures have already affected the area, and are expected to be a factor in weather over much of the country, after a mild December which brought days in the 40s and 50s.
