Kalamazoo Loy Norrix rode into town Tuesday night looking to pick up a win against Lakeview, but it would turn out to be one of those nights for the visiting Knights.

From the opening tip-off, the Spartans were clearly in control of the game.  By the time the buzzer sounded to end the first period, Lakeview led Kalamazoo 23-10 and never looked back.  At the half, the Spartans’ lead had shrunk to 18-points. However, Lakeview was never threatened and the Spartans cruised to a 71-49 victory over the Knights.

Lakeview was 17 of 21 (81%) from the free throw line compared to Loy Norrix shooting 11 of 24 (46%).  The Spartans' scoring was led by Jake Bivens, Donnie Ernsberger and Camden Hames with 20, 18 and 14-points respectively.  Marcus Torres delivered 12-points for the Knights, followed by Grant Mitchell with 10-points and Eddie Gillon with eight-points.

The Spartans improve to 8-and-7 on the season and will next host the Battle Creek Central Bearcats on Friday.  Catch the game on 95.3 WBCK-FM with Ken, Ike and Dave after the 7 o’clock newscast.
