It may have been an off day for the Battle Creek Bombers, but three members of the squad excelled at the Northwoods League's Big League Showcase in Madison, Wisconsin Tuesday.

Outfielders Nick Walker (Austin Peay) and Nehwon Norkeh (Tennessee Wesleyan) along with pitcher Mark Quimby (San Diego) were involved in the first of two games at Warner Park. The exhibition contest ended in a 5-5 tie after 11 innings.

Walker would go 0-for-2 in his left field start. Norkeh would replace Walker in the sixth inning, earning two walks and scoring the game-tying run in the ninth.

On the mound, Quimby would pitch the seventh inning, striking out the side while allowing a walk.

Northwoods League action returns tonight for the Bomb Squad, as they wrap up their series with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters tonight on the road. While the remaining six games on the Bombers schedule are on the road, they have a very good shot of hosting one playoff game. Their second-place overall record will give them home-field advantage if the first-half champion Rapids win the South Division in the second-half. They currently hold a one-game lead over the Rockford Rivets and a two-game lead over the Lakeshore Chinooks.

Tonight's game at Witter Field is at 8:05pm.
