Four Northwoods League games were postponed by bad weather in Wisconsin last night, but the Bombers and Woodchucks finally got their game in.  The rain finally let up in Wausau, and the Bombers took advantage with a 9-7 win.  Shortstop Nikola Vasic hit his 9th homer of the year. Left fielder Tom Stoffel hit his 5th homer.  Right fielder Nick Walker had four hits.  Battle Creek heads to Kenosha tonight for the first of two games there.  They head home to host the Lakeshore Chinooks on Thursday and Friday. They host Madison at C.O. Brown on Saturday and Sunday, before a day off on Monday.  The Bombers are 10-4 on the season, in second place behind Wisconsin Rapids.  The Rafters are 12-1. Kenosha is 9-5.

NBA Playoffs

The Golden State Warriors won their second NBA title in three seasons after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120 on Monday night. Kevin Durant scored 39 points and Stephen Curry had 34 for the Warriors.  LeBron James finished with 41 points for the Cavs.

Tigers

The Tigers were off Monday, and host Arizona and Tampa this week. Buck Farmer tries to extend his scoreless streak against the Diamondbacks tonight. Broadcast time is 6:45 on 95.3 WBCK.

Tigers Draft

The Tigers drafted Florida junior right-handed pitcher Alex Faedo with their first pick, and 18th overall pick, in baseball’s First-Year Player Draft The 6-foot-5, 220-pounds and throws in the low to mid 90’s. Scouts like his slider and changeup.  The draft continues Tuesday and Wednesday.

Griffins vs. Crunch in AHL Finals

The Grand Rapids Griffins play the Syracuse Crunch in game six of the AHL’s Calder Cup finals tonight in Grand Rapids.  The Griffins lead three games to two. Game 7, if necessary, will be played Wednesday, also in Grand Rapids.
KVCC Hires Women’s BB Coach

Kalamazoo Valley Community College has named Talisha Bridges as their next head coach for the Women's Basketball team. This will not be Bridges's first stint with the program. The Kalamazoo Native and Loy Norrix Grad was an assistant coach under legendary, former head coach Ron Welch.

Stanley Cup Parade Wednesday

The Pittsburgh Penguins' Stanley Cup championship victory parade will be held Wednesday morning.  The Penguins are the NHL's first repeat champions since the 1998 Red Wings.

Rodman to Korea

Former Piston great Dennis Rodman has arrived in North Korea on his first visit since President Donald Trump took office.  He told reporters before departing Beijing airport on Tuesday that he is "just trying to open a door" with North Korea.  He said he believes Trump would be happy with his trip. Rodman was a cast member on two seasons of Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice."
