Lions

The Lions lost to the Patriots 34-9. Tom Brady threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns against one of the NFL's stingiest defenses. Brady made his pro debut exactly 14 years earlier, where he actually fell to the Lions ironically by the same score of 34-to-9.  LeGarrette Blount rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns three days after signing with New England after being cut by Pittsburgh.  For the second straight game, Detroit failed to score a touchdown.  The Lions drop to 7-4.  The Packers are first in the NFC North, at 8-3 after beating the Vikings on Sunday.  Detroit hosts the Bears on Thanksgiving.

Derek Jeter Goes Golfing With President Obama

When retired Yankees great Derek Jeter goes looking for a golf game on a Saturday, he doesn’t play with just anyone. He plays with President Barack Obama. Jeter joined POTUS at the exclusive Shadow Creek in North Las Vegas. Stephen Cloobeck, a Las Vegas businessman and big Democratic donor, and Brian Greenspun, editor and publisher of the Las Vegas Sun rounded out the foursome. The course is considered one of the most exclusive in the country. It is located beside the 330-acre Lake Las Vegas, which was created by damming the Colorado River. It reopened three weeks ago after being shuttered for five years due to the recession and water prices.
