Baseball

The New York Mets have clinched a spot in the World Series for the first time in 15 years. ´with a 7-1 win over the Kansas City Royals. Troy Tulowitzki had the big hit for the Blue Jays. Marco Estrada started and pitched 1-hit ball into the 8th for Toronto. Game 6 will be in Kansas City on Friday. David Price will start for the Blue Jays.   The Royals counter with Yordano Ventura and can clinch a World Series appearance with a win.

Red Wings

The Red Wings lost 3-1 in Edmonton last night.  The Wings were 0-6 on the power play and Tomas Tatar scored Detroit's lone goal in the third period. Petr Mrazek turned aside 25 of the 28 shots he faced in goal. Detroit heads to Calgary for a game Friday night and stop in Vancouver before returning home to face off against the Carolina Hurricanes next Tuesday.

Pistons

The Pistons lost to the Charlotte Hornets 99-94 last night at The Palace. Andre Drummond led Detroit with 21 points and 15 rebounds, Marcus Morris added 12 points and Reggie Jackson had 10 points and 11 assists. The Pistons wrap up the exhibition season tomorrow night as they host Atlanta and open the regular season on the road against the Hawks Tuesday.

College Football

Michigan is off this weekend. Michigan State hosts Indiana at Spartan Stadium Saturday.

The Western Michigan football team, (3-3, 2-0 MAC), will host Miami of Ohio on Saturday in their homecoming game at Waldo Stadium.

Thursday Night Football

The Seattle Seahawks square off with the San Francisco 49ers tonight at Levi's Stadium.

Lions

The Lions host the Vikings this Sunday. Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata who has a calf injury and defensive end Jason Jones, who left Sunday's win over Chicago with a neck injury were both limited participants in drills yesterday. Safety James Ihedigbo and tight end Brandon Pettigrew were sidelined with injuries. Head coach Jim Caldwell also gave updates on linebacker DeAndre Levy and rookie running back Zach Zenner. Caldwell said Levy is back at the Allen Park complex going through rehab after successfully hip surgery. Zenner, who suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung against the Bears, has been released from the hospital. He was placed on season-ending Injured Reserve earlier this week, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Volleyball

Harper Creek beat Coldwater in 3. Charley Andrews had 10 kills. Oliva Leson had 8 kills and 10 digs.  Katie Wade had 35 assists.

Gull Lake 3, Lakeview 0.

Marshall 3, Jackson Northwest 0.

Loy Norrix 3, Battle Creek Central 0.

Bronson had wins over Comstock and Berrien Springs.

High School Football

Friday night marks the final week of the High School football regular season.

In Division 3: #8 ranked Marshall plays No. 2-ranked Portland.

In Division 8: #5 Climax-Scotts closes out the regular season at New Buffalo.

In the 8-Player Division, #3 St. Philip plays #2 ranked and defending state champion Lawrence in a battle of unbeaten teams. We’ll have that game on the radio for you this Friday night on WBCK.
