The Tigers beat the Houston Astros 6-3 in game three of a four game series, Wednesday evening in Houston. The Tigers got the most of their 8 hits, three by Jose Iglesias and two from Ian Kinsler.  They pushed across two runs in the third, on a wild pitch and double play.  Houston chipped away at starter Daniel Norris to tie it at two.  Norris pitched into the seventh, giving up just four hits and one earned run, but didn’t get a decision in the game.  The Tigers scored twice in the 8th to take the lead.  Iglesias doubled, Kinsler singled, and both scored on a couple of ground ball outs.  Iglesias hit a two run homer in the 9th.  Closer Justin Wilson gave up a solo home run to Alex Bregman in the 9th, but that was all of the scoring as Detroit won the game, 6-3.  Shane Greene got five straight outs in the late innings to get his first win of the season.  He’s 1-0.  Justin Verlander starts for the Tigers on Thursday night in game 4 of the series, as they go for a split before heading to Chicago for a series with the White Sox.  Hear the game at 7:45pm on 95.3 WBCK.
