Lions

The Lions beat the Bears in Chicago, 20-14.   Turnovers by the Lions and mistakes in special teams gave the Bears a great chance to win the game. Matthew Stafford overcame two interceptions and completed 22 of 39 passes for 243 yards. He hit the 4,000-yard mark for the fourth straight year.  Stafford got a lot of help from running

backs Reggie Bush and Joique Bell.  Bell scored the go-ahead touchdown on a sweet run in the fourth quarter, Calvin Johnson added six catches for 103 yards and Ndamukong Suh had two sacks.  At 11-and-4, the Lions and Packers are tied atop the division but Detroit beat Green Bay earlier this season. The Lions and Packers meet at Lambeau Field in Week 17.  The winner takes the NFC North Division and could earn a bye in round one of the playoffs. The Lions haven't won at Lambeau Field since 1991, and haven't taken a division title since 1993.

Red Wings

The Red Wings lost to the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 last night in a shootout. The Wings have dropped 6 out of their last 7 games, but have picked up 4 points as a result of shootout losses.  Detroit had the lead in the third on a Pavel Datsyuk goal.  In the shootout, the Wings had two quick goals from Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar but that wasn’t enough. Jerome Iginla scored in the ninth shootout round for the win. Goalie Petr Mrazek took the loss, playing for the injured Jimmy Howard.  The Red Wings will host Buffalo on Tuesday.

Pistons

The Pistons lost to Brooklyn 110-105.  Detroit's Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 20.  Andre Drummond finished with 18 points and 20 rebounds. Detroitwill hostIndianaon Friday.

College Basketball

MSU’s Women’s Basketball lost to #9 Baylor on Saturday in Winter Park Florida, but the Spartan’s came from behind to beat #19 Syracuse on Sunday, 89-76.  Aerial Powers led MSU with 32 points and 17 rebounds.  Tori Jankoska had 25 and 10.

The MSU Spartan Men’s team will host the Citadel tonight. Broadcast time is 5 pm on WBCK.

The Michigan Wolverines will look to snap a 4-game slide when they host Coppin State tonight.

Western Michigan hosts Alabama A&M tonight.

Wolves Hockey

The West Michigan Wolves Junior A hockey team swept the home and home series with Toledo winning 4-1 on Saturday.   Dakota Ulmer had two goals again for the Wolves.  Their next game is January 3rd in Peoria.
