MSU upset #24 Minnesota 65-47 last night at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Michigan State led the entire game, went ahead by 22 points at halftime and easily kept a comfortable lead.  Miles Bridges scored all 16 of his points in the first half. Josh Langford scored nine of his 13 points in the first half for the Spartans.  Nick Ward, who fouled out, had nine points and eight rebounds in 13 minutes.  MSU heads to Ohio State on Sunday afternoon, in first place in the Big Ten.  Broadcast time is 12:30 Sunday on WBCK.

Michigan lost to Illinois, 85-69 in Ann Arbor as Michigan falls to 11-6 and 1-3 in Big Ten play.  DJ Wilson led Michigan with 19 points.  The Wolverines host Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Wings travel to Dallas to play the Stars tonight. The Wings are a game below .500 and in last place in the Atlantic Division.    Petr Mrazek is expected to get the start in goal.  The Red Wings are moving defenseman Danny DeKeyser to the power play.

WMU Hockey

It’s a big weekend for the #14 ranked Bronco Hockey team as they host the #1 team in the country, Denver, in games this Friday and Saturday at Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo.   James Haley and Tony Snyder called in and won tickets on WBCK.

Chargers to Move to LA?

ESPN.com has reported that the San Diego Chargers plan to announce as early as Thursday that they are moving to Los Angeles. According to the report, the Chargers have notified team owners and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell of their intent to relocate for the 2017 season. However, the website added that nothing was final.
