Tigers

The Tigers have won four straight and are .500 for the season, after winning the series in Kansas City and sweeping the White Sox at home.  The Tigers had the day off on Monday.

The Tigers are expected to recall second baseman Ian Kinsler and catcher James McCann today before the game with the Angels, and also plan to bring up Buck Farmer to start in place of the recently demoted Matt Boyd.  That means they’ll have to send three players down.

Ausmus says Justin Verlander’s early exit from Sunday’s game was just a precaution, due to a groin issue.  The MRI on Verlander was clean and the Tigers say the test revealed no structural damage. He may or may not make his next scheduled start this Friday in Boston.

The Tigers are 2 ½ behind the first place Twins in the Central Division.  They host the first of three versus the LA Angels, tonight.  Daniel Norris will start for the Tigers.  Broadcast time is 6:45 on 95.3 WBCK.
