• The Pistons beat the Philadelphia 76ers 110-97. The Pistons outscored Philadelphia by 18 points in the final quarter.   Reggie Jackson led all scorers with 27 points in Detroit's second straight win. Andre Drummond racked up 25 points and 18 rebounds.   The 76ers played without starters Jahlil Okafor and JaKarr Sampson, who both missed their second game in two nights with the flu.  The Pistons, who improved to 25-and-21 with the win, will host the Cavaliers tomorrow.

    NBA

    Golden State beat Dallas 127-107 to go 22-0 at home and 42-4 overall…matching the 1966 Philadelphia 76ers for the best 46-game start in NBA history, and passing the ’95 Chicago Bulls.

    Michigan Basketball

    The Michigan Wolverines ran their record to 16-5 and 6-2 in the Big Ten as they beat Rutgers, 68-57 for their third-straight win.  Duncan Robinson scored 18 points for Michigan.  Derrick Walton Jr. added 14 points.  Michigan plays Penn State on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.

    MSU Basketball

    Michigan State travels to Northwestern tonight.  Hear the game starting at 8pm on WBCK.

    The Spartans host Rutgers on Sunday at 4:15.

    KCC Basketball

    KCC beat Grand Rapids Community College 100-88 for their first conference win of the season.  Marshall High School grad Angus Bennett had 33 points and 12 rebounds.  Coach Ben Reed says the Bruins played with a lot of energy at both ends of the floor and that it was a great team effort.

    The KCC women’s team lost to Grand Rapids Community College, 70-54.

    Boys Basketball

    Harper Creek beat Jackson Lumen Christi, 74-54.  Jeremiah Davis and Keygan Kane combined for 40 points, Davis with 24 of them.

    Red Wings

    The Red Wings are until next Wednesday for the NHL All-Star break.  Rookie forward Dylan Larkin is the only Red Wing in the All-Star Game, which will be played In Nashville Sunday.   The Wings finished the first half of the season with a 25-16-8 record, good for second place in the Atlantic Division.

    Pro Bowl

    Teams are set for Sunday's Pro Bowl in Hawaii. Legends captains Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin drafted players Wednesday night. The Lions' Ezekiel Ansah will play for Team Irvin. Calvin Johnson will not play in the contest due to injury.

    Michigan AD Hire Near

    Michigan's hunt for a new leader in the athletic department appears ready to come to an end. Reports say U-M intends to hire current University of Connecticut athletic director Warde Manuel as the 12th AD in 150 years of intercollegiate athletics at Michigan.

    Tigers

    The Detroit Tigers have traded one minor-league infielder for another. A week after he was designated for assignment, Jefry Marte has been dealt to the Los Angeles Angels for infielder Kody Eaves, the club announced Wednesday.
