NBA/Pistons

The Pistons beat first place Cleveland, 96-88 on Monday night.  Reggie Jackson put up 23 points and four assists.  Andre Drummond added another double-double with 16-points and 15 boards in a game Detroit led by as many as 18.  Tobias Harris scored 14 points in his first start for the Pistons, who ended a five-game losing streak.  The Pistons (28-29) will play host to the 76ers tomorrow.

Pistons Trade Nixed

The trade between the Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons involving Donatas Motiejunas is being voided due to a failed physical. ESPN.com reports the deal is dead that would have sent Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton to Detroit for Joel Anthony and a 2016 first-round draft pick. The big man has been dealing with a lingering back issue. He's averaging 5.6 points and 2.1 rebounds for the Rockets this season.

Red Wings

The Red Wings host the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight.  Detroit dropped all four games on its recent road swing, which ended with a 1-0 overtime loss to the Rangers on Sunday. The Wings are fourth in the Atlantic Division with 69 points.

College Basketball

Michigan State is on the road tonight at Ohio State. The Spartans have won back-to-back games over Indiana and Wisconsin to improve to 22-and-5, on the season, 9-5 in the Big ten. MSU moved up two spots in this week's AP Poll to sixth. The Buckeyes are 18-and-10 on the season.  Broadcast time is 8pm tonight on WBCK.   Hear the Tom Izzo Show Wednesday at 7pm.

In the MAC tonight, Western Michigan (11-16, 5-9) plays at EMU.

CMU will host Northern Illinois.

U-M returns home for a matchup with the Northwestern Wildcats on Wednesday.  The Wolverines have dropped back-to-back road games at Ohio State and Maryland to slip to 19-and-9 overall and 9-and-6 in the Big Ten. The 17-and-10 Wildcats have just two wins in their last nine games. John Davis won tickets on WBCK Fm dot com for the game.

KCC’s Men’s team lost to Kalamazoo Valley, 95-61.  The Bruins are 5-20 overall and 2-13 in the Conference and have one final game as they host Grand Rapids on Wednesday.

NFL Combine

Lion’s personnel are in Indianapolis for this week's NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium. Running backs, offensive linemen, kickers and specials teams prospects are set to arrive today. On-field workouts don't begin until Friday. The NFL Draft starts April 28th in Chicago.   The seven Spartans attending the Combine ties a school record and is the most under MSU head coach Mark Dantonio.

Tigers

The Tigers’ first spring full-squad workout is today.  The first spring game is next Monday versus Florida Southern.
