The Pistons beat the Bucks 98-83.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 21 points for the Pistons, who scored seven straight points in the final minute of the third quarter to build a 10-point lead.  Milwaukee never led in the second half.  Andre Drummond had 20 points and 23 rebounds. Drummond reached 20 rebounds for a second consecutive game, and this was his 10th career game with at least 20 points and 20 rebounds.  Tobias Harris scored 16 points for Detroit, and Marcus Morris and Ish Smith added 11 each.  The Pistons host the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.

Lions Football

The Lions came up short in Houston against the Texans, losing 20-13 as they fall to 4-4 on the season.  Houston’s Brock Osweiler threw for 186 yards and a touchdown.  The Texans made it 14-0 when Lamar Miller bulled his way into the end zone from a yard out later in the quarter. The Lions cut the lead to seven when Theo Riddick scored on a 1-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford early in the fourth quarter. The Lions tried an on-side kick late in the game, but it backfired. The Lions play at Minnesota next Sunday.  The 5-1 Vikings are in Chicago tonight to play the Bears on Monday Night Football.

The Packers lost to the Falcons on Sunday, 33-32.

Red Wings

The Red Wings lost two over the weekend, dropping a 1-0 game to the Bruins on Saturday and losing to Florida on Sunday 5-2.  Colton Sceviour's hat trick did in the Wings.   Dylan Larkin and Brendan Smith scored the Red Wings' goals.  Peter Mrazek stopped six of 10 shots before he was replaced by Jimmy Howard in the second period. Howard had 13 saves.   The Red Wings travel to Philly on Wednesday.

World Series

The Chicago Cubs are still alive in the World Series after they put together a three-run fourth to beat the Cleveland Indians, 3-2 in Game 5. Jon Lester gave up two runs and four hits over six innings before Aroldis Chapman recorded an eight-out save to close out the victory.  Kris Bryant tied it with the Cubs' second home run of the series and Addison Russell supplied the go-ahead single.  The series shifts to Cleveland for Game 6 on Tuesday night.

College Football

Undefeated and 17th –ranked Western Michigan will travel to Ball State for a Tuesday night game.   It’s an 8pm broadcast on ESPN2.

The 2-6 Spartans play at Illinois on Saturday. (10:30am on WBCK)

Michigan State backup quarterback Brian Lewerke likely will miss the rest of this season with a broken leg suffered in Saturday's loss to Michigan.

Number 2 Michigan will host Maryland on Saturday in Ann Arbor.  (2:30 on 104.9 the Edge)

Olivet College is 7-1 and 5-0 in the MIAA.  The Comets visit Adrian College this Saturday.

Jimmie Johnson won the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville.

College Basketball

The MSU Spartan Basketball plays Saginaw Valley State in an exhibition game next Wednesday.  We’ll have a chance for you to win tickets to that game on the WBCK Morning Show.

High School Football Playoffs

Two area teams made it through District Pre-Finals and play District Final games this weekend.  Homer takes on Concord, a battle of 8-2 teams.  Undefeated Climax-Scotts (10-0) will take on 8-2 Mendon in Division 8.
