Sports: Pistons hang on to win 111-105
The Pistons blew a 27-point lead, but recovered to beat Knicks 111- 105 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Anthony Tolliver and Reggie Jackson made a trio of big 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter. Jackson finished with 21 points, and Stanley Johnson added 22 and nine rebounds. Andre Drummond had 17 points and 13 rebounds for Detroit. Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is out until after the All-Star Break with a right groin strain. Caldwell-Pope left the game in Wednesday's loss at Boston after he appeared to slip on a wet spot on the court late in the second quarter. The Pistons play at Indiana on Saturday and host the Raptors on Monday.
Red Wings
The Red Wings lost to the Florida Panthers 6-3. Florida scored three quick ones on Jimmy Howard and the Wings were never able to get back in it. Dylan Larkin scored twice for Detroit. But the Panthers kept scoring. Detroit pulled their goaltender on a power play with about eight minutes left and it paid off, as Mike Green scored. But pulling the goalie again backfired, as the Panthers scored to seal the win. Roberto Luongo stopped 36 shots for his ninth consecutive win on home ice for Florida, which has won five straight. Jaromir Jagr had a goal and two assists. The first of the night was his 1,100th in regular-season play, a milestone reached by only five other players — Wayne Gretzky, Ron Francis, Mark Messier, Ray Bourque and Paul Coffey. The Wings head home to host the Islanders on Saturday and the Panthers on Monday.

The Lions hired Bob Quinn as their new general manager last month.
Detroit announced Thursday night that it has hired Josh Schuler as assistant strength and conditioning coach.
