Sports: Pistons, Spartans win!
TheDetroitbeat the Orlando Magic 128-118 last night at the Palace. Brandon Jennings had 24 points and a career-high 21 assists. Andre Drummond added 26 points and 16 rebounds for the Pistons, who have won 12 of 15. Detroit nearly blew a 21-point third-quarter lead, but Jennings helped the Pistons hold off the Magic's rally in the fourth. Greg Monroe had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Detroit, which never trailed. The Pistons play in Milwaukee on Saturday night, and in Toronto on Sunday.
The Michigan State Spartans beat Penn State 66-60 at the Breslin Center. Branden Dawson had 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots to help Michigan State win.
Gavin Schilling added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans (13-6, 4-2 Big Ten). Denzel Valentine scored 11 points and Travis Trice and Matt Costello 10 each. Michigan State travels to Nebraska on Saturday. Broadcast time is 3pm on WBCK.

Austin Richie scored 16 points and Tucker Haymond added 15 as Western Michigan came back to beat Miami (Ohio) 69-58 on Wednesday for its fourth straight win. Richie made four of Western Michigan's seven 3-pointers and Haymond hit eight of the Broncos 20 free throws. David Brown and Drake LaMont scored 10 points apiece asWestern Michigan(13-5, 4-1 Mid-American) won back-to-back games on the road.
Western hosts Akron this Saturday at 2pm at Read Field House.

The KCC’s men’s basketball team lost to Jackson Community College, 66-62, after being up by 13 at the half.

The Lakeview wrestling team swept a pair at the Portage Central quad, beating the host team 65-9 and winning 36-28 over Portage Northern. Battle Creek Central split, beating Portage Central 51-24 and losing to Northern, 42-27.
The Lakeview “B” squad also won two…beating Stockbridge 63-12 and Maple Valley, 50-21.

The Detroit Red Wings assigned left wing Teemu Pulkkinen to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL on Wednesday. Pulkkinen scored his first NHL goal on Tuesday night in Detroit's victory over the Minnesota Wild.
