Harbaugh is Michigan’s new coach

The Jim Harbaugh era is underway at the University of Michigan as he was formally introduced as the 20th head football coach in the school's history.  During a press conference yesterday Harbaugh, the sixth former Michigan player to lead the football program, said that he had dreamed of coaching at U of M throughout his life.  He reportedly signed a seven-year contract worth five-million-dollars annually along with incentives.  Harbaugh spent the last four years in the NFL as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, leading the team to the NFC Championship Game in each of the first three seasons and to an appearance in Super Bowl 47.  Before his stint in the NFL, he was head coach at Stanford University for four years, with a 29-and-21 overall record and an Orange Bowl win in 2010.

Suh was suspended Monday after he stepped twice on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during Detroit's loss in Green Bay on Sunday.  Yesterday, league appeals officer Ted Cottrell reversed the one-game suspension and instead gave the defensive tackle a 70-thousand-dollar fine for the incident.
