Cleaves on Trial

A woman who says she was sexually assaulted by former Michigan State basketball star Mateen Cleaves says she twice ran out of a motel room to try to get away from him.  The woman is testifying Thursday in a Flint-area courtroom. A judge must decide whether there's enough evidence to send Cleaves to trial. He's pleaded not guilty.  The woman says she met Cleaves at a golf event in September 2015 and was with him at a bar later that day. She says Cleaves was supposed to drive her back to the golf club but they ended up at a motel.  Two weeks ago, a witness at the motel testified that Cleaves twice forced the woman back into the room.  Cleaves led Michigan State to the 2000 national championship.
