The Detroit Tigers battled back twice but would eventually fall to the Seattle Mariners 7-6 in 11 innings Tuesday night.

The Tigers (42-41) would use the long ball to get back into the game, with Alex Avila and Yoenis Cespedes hitting game-tying homers in the fourth and eighth innings, respectively. Avila and Nick Castellanos each drove in two runs on the night. Marc Krauss hammered a solo homer in his first game with Detroit, a day after he was picked up off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.

After starter Kyle Ryan was rocked for five runs in 2 2/3 innings, the bullpen stepped up with five pitchers keeping the Tigers close. Ian Krol would eventually give up the winning run in the 11th to take the loss to fall to 1-2.

The final game of the three-game series is this afternoon in Seattle, with Anibal Sanchez (7-7) taking the mound for the Tigers. The Mariners will send out J.A. Happ (4-5). Catch the game today at 3:15pm on WBCK!

Bombers Allow Two In 9th, Drop 3rd Straight
The Battle Creek Bombers jumped out to an early lead on the Green Bay Bullfrogs, but would allow them to come back in their third straight loss, 6-5 Tuesday night.

The Bomb Sqaud had 15 hits on the night and scored all five runs in the first inning, with Christian Helsel (Penn State) driving in two of the runs. Six Bombers 14-28, 1-6 2nd Half) had two hits each on the night.

Mason Marshall (Brigham Young) would allow two Green Bay runs in the ninth inning to take the loss. He falls to 1-1 on the season.

The final game of the two-game series is tonight at C.O. Brown Stadium. Alden Cartwright (LSU, 0-2) will look for his first win on the mound this season, while the Bullfrogs have Luke Syens (Valparaiso, 0-0) on the slab. First pitch tonight is at 7:05pm.
