It was a huge debut for Jefry Marte, as he helped the Detroit Tigers take two out of three games in the Pacific Northwest. Marte drove in two runs including a solo shot in the fourth inning, part of a 2-for-4 afternoon in a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners.

Nick Castellanos continued his hot hitting driving in two runs and Jose Iglesias added an RBI on the day.

Anibal Sanchez struggled with his control in 6 1/3 innings, allowing all four Mariners runs and walking five to escape with a win on the mound. He's now 8-7 on the year. Joakim Soria battled through the ninth inning to earn his 19th save.

The Tigers travel to Minnesota to begin a four-game series with the Twins. It's the final series before Major League Baseball's All-Star Break. David Price (8-2) takes the ball for the Tigers, while the Twins will send out Mike Pelfrey (5-5). Catch the game at 7:45pm on WBCK!

Bombers Swept At Home By The Bullfrogs
Late game struggles continue for the Battle Creek Bombers, as they allow a single run in the ninth inning to break a tie and fall 10-9 to the Green Bay Bullfrogs on Wednesday night.

Brendan Lund (Brigham Young) drove in three runs on the night for the Bomb Squad with three others driving in two apiece.

The Bombers pitching staff walked 11 Bullfrogs on the night, including two in the ninth and a balk called to score the winning run. Evan Dunn (Pepperdine) took the loss in relief to fall to 1-3 on the year.

They now will host the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in a two-game series to conclude a six-game homestand tonight. Alex Hermeling (Ohio State) gets the nod for the Bombers. Adam Hall (Xavier) has the start for the Rafters. First pitch at C.O. Brown Stadium is at 7:05pm.
