Sports Roundup: Pistons lose 104-96
Pistons
The Detroit Pistons lost to the Golden State Warriors 104-96 last night at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Greg Monroe led the way with 23 points, Kyle Singler and Josh Smith each had 18 and Brandon Jennings contributed 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Detroit's second straight loss. Stephen Curry just missed a triple-double with 19 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Warriors, with Klay Thompson chipping in with 19 points in Golden State's fourth straight win. Former MSU Spartan Draymond Green had 6 and 5 rebounds for the Warriors. The Pistons (23-34) travel to San Antonio to take on the Spurs tomorrow night.
College Basketball
University of Michigan sophomore guard Nik Stauskas has been named Big Ten Player of the Week. Stauskas had 25 points and five assists in Sunday's win over Michigan State. He has scored 20 points or more in ten games this season and currently ranks fifth in the conference in scoring with 17 points per game. Michigan tips off against Purdue on the road tomorrow night. MSU is off until Saturday’s game with Illinois.
College Rankings
Florida is the new number-one team in men's college basketball. The 25-and-2 Gators moved into the top spot with 24 first-place votes in the latest "USA Today" top-25 poll.
The Michigan Wolverines (19-7) rank 16th in both the "USA Today" and the "AP" polls. Michigan State (22-6) dropped to 18th in both polls.

The NFL Scouting Combine continues in Indianapolis today, as defensive backs will be on the field to close out the workouts.
Tigers
The Tigers start Spring training games today, with a 1 O’clock game with Florida Southern. Alex Avila, who has been dealing with back spasms, may not appear behind the plate until Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Atlanta Braves at Joker Marchant Stadium. The Tigers have agreed to terms with the following seven players on contracts for the 2014 season: right-handed pitchers Jose Ortega, Luke Putkonen, and Evan Reed, left-handed pitchers Kyle Lobstein and Drew Smyly, infielder Nick Castellanos and outfielder Steven Moya. With seven players agreeing to terms today, the Tigers now have 32 players on the club’s 40-man roster under contract for the 2014 season.
