But the Sox pulled ahead again with three more off Rick Porcello, including Jose Abreu’s 18th homer of the season.  The Tigers closed the gap on a Victor Martinez home run and then the Tigers almost pulled it out in the 9th, but fell one run short. The Tigers lead over Cleveland is now just 2 games in the Central Division.   The Tribe was 10 ½ out of first just a couple of weeks ago.  The Royals and White Sox are 3 ½ out.  Rick Porcello went five innings, giving up 6 runs on 9 hits.
