Tigers

Detroit Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski gave his end of the year press conference yesterday and said it will be a busy offseason. Dombrowski said he had plenty of confidence in Manager Brad Ausmus and thinks he did a great job in his first season as a manager.  Dombrowski also acknowledged the struggles in the bullpen and said the organization will have to decide on club options for Joakim Soria and negotiate with other free agents including Joba Chamberlain, Phil Coke and Jim Johnson.   Dombrowski seemed a little cool on Victor Martinez re-signing but says the team would like to re-sign the veteran DH. He didn't say pitcher Max Scherzer would not return to Detroit's rotation, he did say the team made more of an effort to sign him earlier in the year.

The amount of mandatory timeouts in the second and fourth quarters will be cut from three to two.
