Tigers

The Tigers blew a 5-0 lead and lost 7-5 Thursday night, as Detroit lost for the 9th time in 10 games. Mike Pelfrey pitched his best game of the season and the Tigers staked him to a big lead. But the bullpen collapsed after Pelfrey was out of there.  Alex Wilson gave up three runs in the seventh and Justin Wilson yielded the last two. The Tigers’ offense squandered a lot of scoring chances.  Justin Verlander will start game 2 in Baltimore tonight. Broadcast time is 6:40 on WBCK.
