Tigers

The Tiger bats were mostly silent Monday as they dropped both games to the White Sox at Comerica Park.  Detroit lost game one, 2-0.  The Tigers managed just one hit off Sox starter Jeff Samardzija, a lead-off blooper over shortstop by Victor Martinez in the 5th.  A double play erased Martinez, and Samrdzija didn’t walk a batter, meaning he faced the minimum 27 Tigers hitters, throwing 88 pitches. Kyle Ryan started game one and took the loss, giving up just two runs in 7 innings, and giving the Tigers’ bullpen a big lift.

The Tigers lost game two, 3-2.   Randy Wolf started and surrendered three runs early, but pitched well as the Tigers battled back.  Daniel Norris starts for the Tigers. Broadcast time is 6:40 tonight on WBCK.
