Miguel Cabrera hit his third home run of the spring, doubled and drove in three runs Friday for the Detroit Tigers in an 11-5 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing five runs and five hits with two walks and six strikeouts in the Tigers final home game of spring training.   Sanchez, slotted to be the team's No. 2 starter, gave up a grand slam to Brandon Guyer in the first inning.  The Tigers and Rays will close out their exhibition seasons on this afternoon with a game at Tropicana Field. We’ll have that game on WBCK at 12:30 tomorrow. The Tigers open the regular season at home Monday against the Minnesota Twins….12:40 on WBCK.

Pistons

Chicago beat the Pistons 88-82 last night in the Windy City.  With the game tied at 78 late in the fourth, Aaron Brooks scored five points in less than a minute to give Chicago the lead. Those were the only five points of the game for Brooks, who was 0-for-7 before those buckets.   Reggie Jackson had 22 points in a tough loss for Detroit. Andre Drummond contributed 14 points, 22 boards and six blocks as the Pistons fell to 29-and-47. They will host the Miami Heat tonight. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.

Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings are back on the ice tonight when they host the Minnesota Wild. The puck drops at the Joe Louis Arena at 7:00 p.m.Detroitis coming off a 3-to-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Thursday to drop their record 40-24-and-13, good for 93 points.

They are currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with five games remaining.

Michigan Football Today

New coach Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines will play their annual Spring game this afternoon in Ann Arbor.  Game time is 12:00 p.m., and is free to the public.

The gates to the Big House will open at 10 a.m.,as events will surround the football team's final spring practice. The Big Ten Network will televise the annual spring game.

Add another quarterback to the list, this time a 2016 recruit.  Four-star quarterback Brandon Peters announced his commitment toMichiganvia Twitter on Friday night. Peters is inAnn ArborforMichigan's spring game on Saturday.  The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder from Avon, Indiana is rated as the No. 9 overall pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class, and the No. 272 player overall per 247sports' composite ranking. With Peters in fold, Michigan's 2016 quarterback situation, as of now, will feature Shane Morris, Wilton Speight, John O'Korn, Zach Gentry, Alex Malzone and Peters.

College Basketball

Michigan State will take the court tonight in search for a bid to the NCAA Tournament national title game, when they face off against Duke in a Final Four contest in Indianapolis.    Broadcast time is 4:30 on WBCK.   The winner of this game will face off against the winner of the Kentucky-Wisconsin game in the National Championship Monday night.

The women's NCAA Final Four is Sunday night inTampa.  South Carolina takes on Notre Dame on Sunday evening, followed by UCONN and Maryland.   The winners play on Tuesday.
