The Red Wings host the Colorado Avalanche tonight.  Detroit has won their last three games, including a 3-1 victory over Ottawa Wednesday.  The Wings expect to have defenseman Danny DeKeyser in the lineup Friday against the Colorado Avalanche at Joe Louis Arena. DeKeyser suffered a bruise on his right leg after being hit with a shot.   The Boston Bruins come in on Sunday afternoon. The Red Wings are in second place in the Atlantic Conference, just 6 points behind first-place Florida.

The team has announced details for their final season, 2016-17, at Joe Louis Arena. As part of the campaign, players will wear special "a Farewell Season at the Joe patch" on their uniforms.  The Wings have played at Joe Louis Arena since 1979 and will move into their new home in time for the 2017-18 season.

Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said he expects to be working the phones as the Feb. 29 trade deadline approaches. But whether a deal happens depends on several factors."Before we do anything we got to get close to the trade deadline and see where we're at in the standings," Holland said on Thursday.  The Red Wings have eight games remaining before the trade deadline. If they're still in the playoff hunt, which seems likely, then Holland will see if he can upgrade the roster.
