National Signing Day
Today is National Signing Day for colleges and universities across the nation. It's the first day students can sign their letter of intent to play college football for the 2016 season.
At Michigan, they’re calling it the "Signing of the Stars." Coach Jim Harbaugh is bringing in Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Desmond Howard and Ric Flair, as well as rapper Migos. The festivities will be live streamed on Jeter's website, "The Player's Tribune."
More signs are pointing toward Super Bowl 50 being Peyton Manning's final game. NFL Network reports the 39-year-old Bronco quarterback has told close friends that he expects Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers to be his last. Manning will be appearing in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in his 18-year career.
The Tigers have signed Cuban shortstop Leonardo Laffita to a minor-league contract. The 24-year-old can also play second base and is expected to start at Class A Lakeland or Double-A Erie.
15 Days until pitchers and catchers report to Lakeland. (wed)
