The Michigan Wolverines lost big to the No.22 Indiana Hoosiers Tuesday night 80-67, snapping their four-game winning streak.  Michigan led early but Indiana went on a 25-0 run late in the first half.  Zak Irvin led U of M with 16 points. Duncan Robinson added 14. Michigan, 17-6 overall and 7-3 in the Big Ten, hosts number 10 Michigan State in their only regular season meeting on Saturday.

LeVert a Finalist for the Jerry West Award

Michigan's Caris LeVert is being counted among the 10 best shooting guards in college basketball, despite missing the last eight games of his senior season. LeVert was included among the finalists announced Tuesday for the Jerry West Award.  LeVert has not played for U-M since suffering a lower left leg injury on Dec. 30.

The Pistons wrap up a road trip with a stop in Boston to take on the Celtics tonight.

Red Wings

The Red Wings are in Tampa tonight to skate against the Lightning in their first action following the All-Star break. The puck drops at 8:00 p.m.  Detroit is in third place in the Atlantic with 58 points, behind Tampa Bay and the division leading Florida Panthers. The Wings are bringing a few extra fans to Florida, as several players' mothers are taking part in the road trip. For many years, the Red Wings have taken their fathers on an annual road trip during the regular season and this marks the first time the moms get to travel with their sons.  The Wings wrap up their two-game road trip as they visit the Panthers tomorrow night.

National Signing Day

Today is National Signing Day for colleges and universities across the nation. It's the first day students can sign their letter of intent to play college football for the 2016 season.

At Michigan, they’re calling it the "Signing of the Stars."  Coach Jim Harbaugh is bringing in Tom Brady,  Derek Jeter, Desmond Howard and Ric Flair, as well as rapper Migos.  The festivities will be live streamed on Jeter's website, "The Player's Tribune."

Super Bowl-Manning

More signs are pointing toward Super Bowl 50 being Peyton Manning's final game. NFL Network reports the 39-year-old Bronco quarterback has told close friends that he expects Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers to be his last. Manning will be appearing in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in his 18-year career.

Tigers

The Tigers have signed Cuban shortstop Leonardo Laffita to a minor-league contract. The 24-year-old can also play second base and is expected to start at Class A Lakeland or Double-A Erie.
