Two Battle Creek area teenagers were arrested yesterday after they were caught with stolen checks.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that they were called to the Kalcee Credit Union on Dickman Rd. in Springfield, after someone was trying to cash a stolen check. When deputies arrived, the subjects had already left; however, they found their subjects a short distance away from the credit union, and learned that they had checks stolen from vehicles in the Schoolcraft area.

Investigators were also able to link two of the three suspects to other stolen check use in the Kalamazoo area. They recovered other stolen items as well.

Two males, aged 17 and 19, were arrested on local charges; they are set to be interviewed by Schoolcraft and Kalamazoo authorities about larcenies allegedly committed in those jurisdictions.
