Battle Creek's Sprout is embarking on a new venture - local food delivered to your door. Sprout's Jeremy Andrews tells 95.3 WBCK the "Sprout Box" program already has some subscribers.

The concept is this: Subscribers sign up at a weekly rate ranging from $15 to $100, then choose from a list of available foods sourced locally. The food is then either delivered to a subscriber's home for an additional fee, or - if enough coworkers sign up - is delivered to the workplace at no additional cost.

As the concept grows locally, Sprout continues with its new operation at the former Springfield Farmer's Market, where local products are being sold on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
