Abby McKinzie had 17 kills, Megan Parker had eight and Abby McClure launched three aces, as the St. Philip Tigers return to the MHSAA Class D State Finals on Saturday 3-0 over Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes. The Tigers (53-12-4) will go for their ninth straight Class D title and make their 15th straight appearance in the title game.

McKinzie, Parker and Kameron Haley held up the Tigers defensively with 11 digs each and Emily Schaub made 29 assists on the afternoon.

The Falcons of Waterford Our Lady were led by sisters Courtney and Lindsay Wightman, with 20 and 15 kills, respectively.

The Tigers will take on the Leland Comets at Kellogg Arena at 10am Saturday for the finals. The two teams have squared off four times in the championship game with an even 2-2 series split. Leland's last title was in 2006, the last time St. Philip has fallen in the finals.
