Michigan State Police, from the Marshall Post, attempted to stop a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Northbound I-69 near Fenn Road, Wednesday evening.

The vehicle failed to stop and continued to the US-12 off ramp and traveled east on US-12, for a short distance and then crashed into another vehicle. The suspect fled the rolling car, which was still in gear. A State Trooper used his cruiser to stop the out-of-control vehicle and gave chase, on foot.

Troopers apprehended the 31-year-old man from Muncie, Indiana, as he attempted to steal another vehicle from a person in the parking-lot of the Tractor Supply store, in Coldwater. The suspect was transported to the Community Health Center, in Coldwater, for medical treatment and lodged in the Branch County Jail on multiple charges.

Further investigation on the incident revealed that the vehicle, which the suspect had been driving, was reported stolen in Indiana. The condition of the other driver involved in the crash is unknown at this time.
