A man is set to be arraigned Thursday in Calhoun County after he allegedly stole a gun in Teknosha and initiated a multi-county search.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that they were called to the 17,000 block of T. Drive South in Tekonsha Township around 11:30am Wednesday, after receiving reports of a burglary. Investigation determined that a man had stolen a 9mm handgun, and he might have possibly been suicidal.

Area authorities began searching for a 28-year-old man from Coldwater, seen driving a gold Ford Ranger. The man was eventually tracked down by the Coldwater Police Department in conjunction with the Branch County Sheriff's Department and Michigan State Police. The firearm was not found.

Through investigation, the CCSO says that they also learned of "a threatening nature that initiated a lockdown at Hillsdale College".

The suspect was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.
