Streets Closed And Power Out After Power Pole Falls In Post Addition

The City of Battle Creek says Monday morning that a power pole fell in Post Addition, and that this incident is causing multiple problems.

Until further notice, Kingman Ave. E from Academy St. to Caine St, and Caine from Post Ave. to Kingman, are completely closed, including to emergency traffic. It's not known when the streets will be back open, but the city estimates it could take most of the morning.

As well, around 80 people have lost power in the area due to the incident, with Consumers Energy's Outage Map showing that power is expected to be restored by 1pm Monday.

The City says that the pole fell, after a vehicle crashed into it.
