Suspect in Assault, Arson on the Run

Police in Kalamazoo are searching for a man they believe broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home, attacked her and then set her bedroom on fire.  It happened on Prospect shortly after 10 last night.  A neighbor saw the flames and managed to keep the fire under control.  The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.  The victim’s family tried to stop her attacker but he escaped by jumping through a second floor window.
