Suspect Surrenders After Shooting In Marshall

A woman is in the hospital after police say she was shot this morning by a stalker in her Marshall home.

Police responded to reports of a shooting and a possible hostage situation at the house on West Prospect at around midnight.

Police were surrounding the home when a witness reported the shooter had already fled.  The victim was found inside and sent to Kalamazoo for treatment.

Police say the shooter turned himself in shortly after at the State Police Post in Coldwater.

The man was taken to the Calhoun County Jail on suspicion of Assault with Intent to Murder, Aggravated Stalking, Home Invasion and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
