Police in Battle Creek are trying to find their suspects in a shooting that took place Monday night.

Battle Creek Police Officers responded to the Arbors of Battle Creek on Greentree Ln. around 9:45pm Monday, to find a man inside an apartment with at least two gunshot wounds in his back and abdomen. The 23-year-old was taken to the hospital and was rushed into surgery, with his injuries described as non-life threatening.

Shortly after this, a vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Capital Ave. and Golden because it matched the description of a vehicle at the scene. Police say that they were able to determine that the 28-year-old driver and 27-year-old passenger had been at the scene of the shooting, they couldn’t be definitively tied to the shooting itself. The pair was arrested instead on unrelated weapons charges.

Detectives continue to investigate, and look for the perpetrators.
