The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says that they got a call around 3:30am Wednesday about a man with a gun in the 100 block of Avenue C in Springfield.
The 43-year-old man, who had cuts on his hands, wrist, and shoulder, said that the they been arguing when he was slapped and had his hair pulled by his girlfriend; she then grabbed a knife and started swinging at him.
Deputies were called to the Leroy Township home to see the man physically assault a woman; he then barricaded himself inside the house and said he was armed.
