3,400 Lose Power In Kalamazoo, Calhoun Counties

Around 3,400 people are without power in Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties Monday morning.

According to Consumer’s Energy’s Outage Map, residents in Galesburg, Climax and western Battle Creek lost power around 7am, with the cause unknown.

83-Year-Old Dies After Single Vehicle Crash In Calhoun County

A driver has now died, a week and a half after their car rolled over in Calhoun County.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says Friday that the accident took place on November 4, on M-60 near 10 ½ Mile Rd. in Burlington Township; deputies found a vehicle that had flipped over several times and landed on its side in a field.

Battle Creek’s Mayor and Vice Mayor have now been selected, in a split vote by the City Commission Tuesday night.
The City says that after the swearing in of commissioners, Mark Behnke was chosen to serve as mayor with a 5-4 vote, with Dave Walters getting picked as Vice Mayor 6-3.

The Battle Creek Fire Department says that just before 9pm Saturday, the home in the 100 block of W. Fountain St. had a fire start in the rear. It was quickly extinguished by responding firefighters, and no one was injured; however, $15,000 in damage was done.
