Over Three Dozen Remains Found Unclaimed In Athens Funeral Home

Back in March 2016, the Spencer Funeral Home building in Athens was bought at auction by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation. According to a statement, in October of this year, the former owner of Spencer’s died, and their family came to Lighthouse of Union City with several boxes “that contained the cremated remains of those that had not been claimed by family members prior to the sale of the building.”

KCC RMTC Plans $4.3 Million Remodel, Clears Lansing Subcommittee

KCC says that on Wednesday, the project received formal authorization by the Joint Capital Outlay Subcommittee in Lansing, with the subcommittee also approving $2.15 million in state matching grants. The matching grants will combine with $2.15 million from the college's own dedicated capital millage for a total of $4.3 million for the remodeling.

An Albion woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after allegedly leading police on a chase that ended in a crash.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says that around 5:30am Tuesday, deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle for speeding along M-60 near 24 1/2 Mile Rd.

Shots Fired At Car In Albion Sunday Morning

The Albion Department of Public Safety says in a press release to their Facebook that just after midnight Sunday, they responded to a shots fired call in the 600 block of W. Erie St. They found several shell casings in the road, and were contacted by a resident who told them they had been shot at while they were sitting in their car.
