Three Taken To The Hospital In Early Morning Crash Near Marshall

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that they were called to A Dr. N near 14 mile Rd. in Marshall Township around 2:30am Monday, September 11 to find that a sedan and pickup truck had collided head-on. The sedan was on fire, and a 19-year-old passenger from Marshall was trapped inside.

Pedestrian Struck By Car In Springfield Dies

61-year-old Stuart Lewis died as a result of his injuries Thursday afternoon at the hospital in Kalamazoo. Shortly after the accident September 7, the Sheriff’s Office said that Lewis was crossing the Army Ave. near the Brookside Apartments, when a sedan driven by a 24-year-old Battle Creek woman struck him; he was then taken to the hospital with severe head trauma.

Portion Of I-94 To Be Named After Fallen Fire Chief In New Bill

On Thursday, Senator Margaret O’Brien of Portage introduced the bill, which would name 6 miles of I-94 between Sprinkle Rd. and Galesburg in honor of Switalski. In a release to her website, Sen. O’Brien says that renaming the highway will not only honor Chief Switalski’s contributions to the community, but it will also serve as a reminder to motorists to drive safe.

The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says that around 7am, a sedan driven by a 24-year-old Battle Creek woman had been travelling northeast on Army Ave. near the Brookside Apartments. The vehicle struck a 61-year-old resident who was crossing the street, causing "Severe head trauma".
