The County Commission met Tuesday night to discuss the possibility of joining the class action, which sees cities like Lansing and Detroit along with other Michigan municipalities suing drug makers and pharmacies.
A retired Sergeant who spent nearly thirty years with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s office has passed away. The sheriff’s office says on their Facebook page that Albert “Al” Lehmkuhl died April 1st following a short illness. He was 66.

36-year-old Ryan Weaver was sentenced to between 44 months and 20 years in prison on Thursday. In September, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office found Weaver having sex with the 14-year-old victim in a soybean field in Homer Township.
On Monday, The ADPS learned that the laptop might be at a home in Battle Creek, so a search warrant was drafted and executed. Inside the home on Post Ave, the laptop was found, along with several other stolen items.
The Emmett Township Department of Public Safety says Tuesday morning that they became aware of the threats, and quickly took the juvenile into custody at the Calhoun County Juvenile Home. Authorities say that after investigating, Harper Creek Public Schools are safe to open.
