Battle Creek Public Schools is closing an elementary school as it faces declining enrollment and a predicted budget deficit.

The Battle Creek Public Schools Board of Education last night decided to put off making a decision on a plan to close two schools.

At last Monday’s Battle Creek Public Schools Board of Education meeting, District Superintendent Dr. Linda Hicks presented a plan to close two elementary schools to save the district money.
