With shark week 2022 in full bloom, and Michigan being shark-less thanks to being surrounded by the great freshwater lakes, what animals are considered dangerous and most likely to attack Michiganders? Though Michigan is known as the Wolverine state, we are home to many natural and invasive predators from small to large.

The Michigan DNR has confirmed that a viral photo of a cougar taken on a Michigan trail cam is in fact, real. That brings the confirmed number of cougar sightings up to 74 in the last 13 years.

We all know there are cougars living in Michigan, primarily in the Upper Penninsula but I think we sometimes tend to forget their existence here (at least I do). Fox 2 reports that In the 13 years that the state's cougar team has been searching, they have verified at least 65 reports of a cougar traversing the Michigan wilderness...

There have now been 43 confirmed sightings since 2008.
