Even when it looks like much isn’t happening, the City says that between 80 and 120 people are working every day to rehabilitate the Heritage Tower in downtown.
A few hours before the City Commission meeting Tuesday night, a resolution was added to the agenda which would allow the City Manager to seek a supplemental Program-Related Investment loan from the WK Kellogg Foundation for $600,000.

32 Social has opened its doors at 32 W. Michigan Ave, next to the Battle Creek Community Foundation and right across the street from the Heritage Tower.
On Tuesday, a pair of tax exemptions were approved that will allow the developers to avoid a total of $7.9 million in taxes for both the commercial and residential portions of the 80-year-old building.
