The Battle Creek Police Department says Tuesday that over the past few days, four separate burglaries were reported in the Lakeview area; in all of these incidents, suspects entered the home at night, while the residents were asleep. It appears the suspects got into the homes by entering through unsecured rear, side, or garage doors.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that around 2:09pm Saturday, officers were called to the store in the 2100 block of Parkview Ave. on reports of shoplifting; they made contact, and as they were attempting to detain their suspect, he threw a handgun to the side and managed to pull away and escape.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that around 8:41pm Wednesday, a resident in the 100 block of Sharon Ave. in Pennfield Township called to report lights on in a neighboring house that was being renovated. Deputies arrived at the scene and entered the house, finding two suspects inside.
The Michigan State Police Marshall Post says that sometime between 9pm Monday and 3pm Tuesday, “a number of” breaking and entering incidents took place in the 1400 block of Michigan Ave. in Marshall Township.
An Ovid Township homeowner had called 911 for suspicious activity Monday morning, when a suspect allegedly broke through his patio door and threatened him.
Around 7pm Wednesday, they received word from an 88-year-old victim who had been staying at a motel in the 20,000 block of M66 in Pennfield; the man said that a woman broke into his room and assaulted him, before tying him up and taking his cash and debit card.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that sometime early Friday, a suspect broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home before sexually assaulting her and fleeing.
This search warrant was related to the arrests of Keith Worthington and Tiffany Denton, which took place at the end of May. Now, the next step is for law enforcement to find the owners of these stolen items.
