A group of Kalamazoo Public Schools students were returning from a camping trip at Sherman Lake when their bus got stuck in the snow while trying to turn a corner.
As you can see in the video above, there is a bus on its side, and can hear the alarms blaring outside of the Canterbury Apartments in Kalamazoo. It is alleged that the bus driver dozed off at the wheel before the crash.
A new Michigan law has gone into effect allowing school buses to mount cameras on the arm of the bus stop sign. Michigan has a reputation for terrible driving and the only way to combat that is to just record and ticket everyone!
The new camera state law allows school districts to record vehicles driving by buses when the red lights are flashing.

Kids have only been back to school a few days (in Grand Blanc) and already I've witnessed moron drivers not stopping when buses stop to pick up or drop off kids. I'd like to blame it on the state of the world we're living in but this has been a problem for a lot longer than that...
It's enough to make your blood boil. Careless drivers driving right a stopped school bus. The results of such a mistake can be tragic. How often does it happen? It's probably correct to say one time is too often.
